Teen Offended by Rihanna’s Tweets About Her #PromBat Outfit
A Baltimore teen decided to emulate a Rihanna fashion look for her high school prom, but she apparently didn't impress the singer.
Alexis Carter designed a caped prom ensemble inspired by an outfit the “Diamonds” singer wore to the 2010 Echo Awards, which features a plunging neckline and cape that resembled bat-like wings.
Speaking to a local Baltimore FOX news station, Carter said she received a lot of compliments on her unique outfit that night, but when she posted pics on Twitter, the response was less than positive, including a few posts from Rihanna, who seemed to make fun of Carter.
The first showed a side-by-side comparison of her outfit next to the teen's, with Rihanna labeling her photo “IG” (meaning ignorant or I guess) and Carter's photos “Real Life.”
The second tweet compared Carter's prom ensemble to the Wu-Tang Clan logo.
Alexis said, "I was very offended. Why throw shade on it when you had on the exact same thing? The poses was different but the outfit wasn't."
Meanwhile, in other Rihanna news, Beyoncé posted a cute pic of herself and RiRi at the Met Gala, seemingly refuting any claims Rihanna was the cause of Solange Knowles going crazy on Jay Z in a hotel elevator.
