'Game of Thrones' Shocker: The Red Wedding
The Red Wedding is known among “Game of Thrones” readers as one of the most shocking scenes in the series… rivaled only by Ned Stark's beheading.
In Sunday's episode, titled “The Rains of Castamere” and quickly dubbed the “Red Wedding," the gruesome scene finally played out on screen, with several key Starks slaughtered at the hands of Walder Frey's men.
To the point, Robb Stark (Richard Madden), mother Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley), pregnant wife Talisa (Oona Chaplin) and most of Stark's army were trapped and viciously murdered by the traitor Frey, while attending a seemingly joyous wedding. Even Robb's dire wolf was axed, or arrowed, through the heart.
The bloodbath wasn't the first shocker of the George R.R. Martin series… and it certainly isn't the last!
