Kickstarter to the rescue again! Actor/director Zach Braff used the crowdfunding website to collect $2 million for a follow-up to his cult favorite “Garden State.”
The Kickstarter campaign for the project titled “Wish I Were Here” launched on Wednesday and received over 28,000 backers.
The “Scrubs” star tweeted on Friday, "Dear Fans, I cannot believe your unbelievable support for WIWH. I wish I could hug each and every one of you.”
“I get Anne Hathaway's ex-boyfriend. I get Dax Shepard, Ray Romano. Once Anne’s dad saw me at a premiere and gave me this look for a second like he was going to tackle me because I guess he wasn't the best ex-boyfriend.” (Follieri is currently serving time for fraud).
Braff added, “But I quickly let him know that it was just me, Dax Shepard.”

President Barack Obama is getting a little re-election campaign help from young Hollywood. The Commander in Chief invited 25 very lucky stars to a private breakfast at the Beverly Hilton on Thursday, reports E! Online.
The younger set, which was key to his election in 2008, discussed the Young America Effort, an initiative that encourages young people to vote.The stars came out to support the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival on Monday, April 25 at the Tribeca Film Festival Artists Dinner hosted by Chanel.
Those in attendance included Adrien Brody, Zach Braff, Naomi Watts and Festival founder Robert De Niro.

"The poor Jersey Board of Tourism... we had "The Sopranos" first, and now we have Snookers," Braff laughed with his Garden State homeboy, "Extra's" AJ Calloway (the two actually went to high school together!).
