"True Blood" hottie Joe Manganiello stopped to talk with "Extra" at the 2011 Producer Guild Awards Saturday -- and hinted at a possible starring role in an upcoming "Superman" redo.
"It's not up to me at this point," Manganiello said, referring to rumors he's set to wear the blue tights and red cape in the new film "Superman: Man of Steel" from director Zack Synder. "I love Zack Snyder, huge fan. I'd be honored if they chose to do that. We'll see. It's out there in the ether."

Actor and activist Sean Penn presented the Oscar for Best Actress on Sunday, but instead of acknowledging the nominees, he did a little improv.
"I never became an official member of the Academy, but the Academy and I do have in common that we neglected to acknowledge the same actress in our own ways two years running," he said. "So I'm going to start fresh with the Academy and acknowledge these wonderful actresses."
Oscar winner Sean Penn talks to "Extra" about another big problem about to hit earthquake stricken Haiti -- rain.
"Raincover is virtually non-existent for approximately 750,000 people in Port Au Prince alone," Penn tells "Extra's" Mario Lopez, "There's not going to be anybody to treat with these medicines if we don't relocate hundreds of thousands of people in the next two weeks."
Penn wants to make it clear that the rain will be disastrous and diseases will spread "on a scale we've never seen."
The actor's Jenkins-Penn Haitian Relief Organization donated medicine, medical treatment and services to Haiti.
Penn encourages Americans to donate any amount to the organization because it proves our efforts as a unified country offering support to our neighboring countries. "This is the greatest opportunity the United States has had to respond with what's best about the heart of this country," Penn tells "Extra's" Mario Lopez.
Penn explains the treatment as "Civil War medicine." The humanitarian saw, firsthand, body parts being removed without anesthetics and with whatever tools were available at the moment. He said, "I saw a young child not even flinch during an amputation."
There are rumors about Penn working on the upcoming "Three Stooges" flick. He says, "It keeps bouncing around. I'm not in a very funny state of mind right now."
He's politically active and passionate about raising awareness for causes, but Penn says he doesn't see himself leaving acting for politics. Penn reveals, "I don't think I'd ever run for political office, but I do think that all of us involved in this kind of activity have to really find more effective ways to support policies we believe in and to challenge the ones we don't."

It's over -- again. Robin Wright Penn has filed for divorce from hubby Sean Penn. The "Milk" star and Robin wed in 1996, and have initiated divorce twice in the past.
The legal documents filed in California and obtained by People magazine cite the reason for the split as "irreconcilable differences." According to the papers, both Robin and Sean have "already agreed to shared custody" of their son, Hopper Jack, 16. The couple has also agreed on the division of assets. Robin is not seeking spousal support.
Robin recently revealed to More magazine that she has no plans to reconcile with her husband, saying, "I hit that crossroad awhile ago -- I know what I don't want." Still, Wright Penn doesn't regret her marriage to Sean. "I have no regrets. I, we, have two amazing children we raised together."
In addition to son Hopper, they have a daughter, Dylan Frances, 18.
Sean Penn has pulled out of several film roles, including a planned stint as Larry Fine in "The Three Stooges." He's also dropped "Cartel" -- and word is he's putting work on the back burner to focus on his family.
Penn's rep, Mara Buxbaum, confirmed to the AP that the "Milk" man was dropping out of the films, but did not specify the reason. Buxbaum did reveal that if start dates for productions were postponed, Sean would remain involved with both films.
Penn's marital turmoil with wife Robin Wright Penn is no secret. Last month, Sean withdrew a petition to separate from his wife of 13 years. The couple also filed for divorce in December 2007, but dismissed that separation a few months later.
The couple walked the red carpet together at the Oscars earlier this year, where Penn won Best Actor for his role in "Milk." Sean and Robin have two teenaged children.

According to court documents, the actor called off a separation from wife Robin Wright Penn on May 19. The couple married in 1996, and began divorce proceedings in 2007. In April 2008, the couple stopped divorce proceedings.
Penn filed for separation again last month, citing "irreconcilable differences," but it seems now the Oscar winner and his actress wife are trying to work things out... again. Ah, love.
The couple has two children -- Dylan, 18 and Hopper, 15.
Natalie Portman came to "Extra" to shoot down rumors that she is romantically involved with fellow actor, 48-year-old Sean Penn.
The 27-year-old starlet tells "Extra," "Sean Penn is a friend and colleague. The reports that we are romantically involved are completely untrue. I normally do not respond to rumors about my private life, however, this repeatedly fabricated story has forced me to do so."
Portman and Sean Penn were both jury members at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival. In April, Penn separated from his wife Robin Wright Penn after a brief reconciliation. They married in 1996 and have two children.
