Redmond spoke for the first time about finding out his mother Farrah had passed away while he was in prison. “One minute she was alive and well, everything was good, and the bam! My dad was telling me she died… I was in jail at the time. I didn’t even get to say bye to her. For the last four months she was living, I didn’t even get to talk to her. She was bedridden, incapable of getting on the phone… The good thing is she didn’t know I was in jail. My dad kept that from her.”
A jury has ruled that actor Ryan O'Neal can keep an Andy Warhol portrait of his longtime love Farrah Fawcett.
The trial in the vase of The University of Texas at Austin’s Blanton Museum of Art vs. O’Neal centered on a dispute that began after Fawcett died of cancer in 2009. She willed her artwork to her alma mater, and among those works were, the school contended, two Andy Warhol portraits of actress. The university already has one, and sued for the other one from O’Neal.
The case between Ryan O’Neal and The University of Texas at Austin is now in the hands of the jury, which must decide if the school or O’Neal should have one of two Warhol portraits of Farrah Fawcett.
Fawcett’s longtime friend and "Charlie's Angels" co-star Jaclyn Smith sat down with “Extra’s” Terri Seymour on Tuesday, just a day after she broke down outside court.
“Extra’s” Renee Bargh spoke exclusively with Ryan O’Neal about dealing with stage 2 prostate cancer.
“Yeah, I’m worried about my dad,” admitted Tatum, but she added, “He’s a tough guy.”
Bargh also talked with the event’s host, “Dancing with the Stars” pro Tony Dovolani, and the evening's honoree, oncology specialist Dr. Lawrence Piro.

Actor Ryan O'Neal has been diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer, the "Love Story" star revealed to People.com.
In a statement released by his rep, O'Neal, 70, said, "Although I was shocked and stunned by the news, I feel fortunate that it was detected early and according to my extraordinary team of doctors the prognosis is positive for a full recovery."
"Extra" talked with Ryan O'Neal at an event for The Farrah Fawcett Foundation in Los Angeles -- and he confirmed he'll be doing "Dancing with the Stars" next year... once he recovers from knee surgery.
"I'm going to get my knee done. I have one new knee, a titanium one, I'm going to get a second," explained O'Neal.
Actress Tatum O'Neal visited The Grove and talked with "Extra's" Mario Lopez about her new book, "Found: A Daughter's Journey Home" -- and about her father, Ryan O'Neal, and his recent interview on "Piers Morgan Tonight."
On the CNN talk show, Ryan told Piers there was "turmoil during my love affair with Farrah, and a lot of it caused by my kids, particularly Tatum."
Tatum told Mario she didn't see the interview, but later read the whole transcript. "I think it was taken out of context," she said. The actress has since seen her dad and said all was good. "I think he's sort of unhappy the way that it got misconstrued, if you will."
