Golden Globe host Ricky Gervais, who poked fun at teen pop sensation Justin Bieber about his paternity test, announced he was leaving L.A., tweeting, "Getting out of town now, Bieber fans aren't happy with me. That's some scary sh**. Bye LA. hello NY!"

A short time later, he posted another message, "OK. I've got enough protection against Bieber fans now," along with a photo of the actor holding a tiny Pomeranian.

A fairly tame Ricky Gervais took to the stage as host of the 69th Annual Golden Globes on Sunday, with a much milder tone than last year.
