Three judges down… one to go? With yesterday’s announcements that Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj are officially not returning to “American Idol” next season, and Randy Jackson’s previously announced exodus, where does that leave remaining judge Keith Urban?
The country superstar appears to be hanging tight to see what happens. Urban recently told AP, "I have no official information of anything. I'm pretty much in the same boat as everybody else here with the rumors that have been floating around. I don't know anything more about what's happening next season."Former “American Idol” judge Randy Jackson recently stopped by MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, FL to commemorate Memorial Day, and to announce the start of his “American Tribute Collection” guitar.
Jackson spent the day touring the base and performed at a ceremony. Of course, he couldn’t leave without donating some of the guitars from his collection to the Air Force.
Nicki Minaj could be the next judge to exit “American Idol” after Season 12. Sources told Us Weekly, “It’s safe to say she isn’t coming back to ‘Idol.’”
The insider added that Nicki is going to focus on her career and that "She's okay with it. She had a great time, but was only going to do one season anyway."Longtime “American Idol” judge Randy Jackson announced yesterday that he is leaving the hit reality show.
Jackson tells "Extra" in a statement, "Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on ‘American Idol’ I have decided it is time to leave after this season.”“American Idol” staple Randy Jackson will not be returning next season.
Jackson tells "Extra" in a statement, "Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on ‘American Idol’ I have decided it is time to leave after this season. I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry. It's been a life-changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures."
Wild rumors circulated this week about foiled plans to replace Mariah Carey with former judge Jennifer Lopez on “American Idol.” “Extra’s” Terri Seymour caught up with Ryan Seacrest and Randy Jackson to get their take on the gossip.
Ryan said, “I had not heard about that before that report. I saw Mariah that day and she was firmly planted in that seat, and I see her tonight and I think she was firmly planted in that seat, I don’t think she is going anywhere.”The competition heated up on “American Idol” Wednesday night as the sudden death rounds began in Las Vegas. Ten contestants took the stage, but only five made it through to the upcoming Hollywood sing-off.
Judge Mariah Carey told “Extra's" Terri Seymour, “I hated having to let certain people go. It’s so hard.”
FOX's “American Idol” kicked off Wednesday night with a whole lotta drama between feuding judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. After months of gossip about the dueling singers, the audience got to see firsthand just how much they hate each other. Oh, and there were some contestants auditioning too, but we’ll get to that later.
With fellow freshman judge Keith Urban in the middle, Carey and Minaj went at each other, arguing over Nicki’s leopard print hat.
