Film buffs and pop culture fanatics can rejoice, because the MTV Movie Awards just announced the 2013 nominees! The Academy had its fun with the top films of 2012, and now it’s the public’s turn to decide on categories like Best Kiss, WTF Moment and Scared-As-S**t Performance.
The “Django Unchained” director, known for lots of blood and gore in his films, recently sat down with a British reporter and blew up when asked Tarantino about the link between movie violence and real-life violence.

Tarantino and his Oscar-nominated film “Django” have been criticized in the wake of the recent school shooting in Connecticut.
“Lincoln” took the top spot at the Golden Globe nominations on Thursday morning, leading the pack with seven nominations. Nods included best drama, best director for Spielberg and acting accolades for Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field and Tommy Lee Jones.
Ben Affleck’s “Argo” and Quentin Tarantino’s “Django Unchained” both tied for second place with five nominations each. The films will compete for best drama with “Life of Pi” and “Zero Dark Thirty.”Jamie Foxx, Quentin Tarantino, Tyler Perry and Laz Alonzo will join previously announced presenters Kevin Hart, Cedric the Entertainer, Taraji P. Henson, Meagan Good and superstar host, Samuel L. Jackson.
The stellar lineup of musical performers includes D'Angelo, Usher, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj and others.
The BET Awards airs Sunday, July 1 at 8:00 PM on BET!
Oscar-nominated film editor Sally Menke, who worked on many Quentin Tarantino films, was found dead in L.A.'s Griffith Park on Monday.

The 56-year-old had gone hiking with her dog in record-breaking heat in the morning, and her body was found around 2:00 AM the next day. Temperatures reached 113 in Los Angeles on Monday.

Quentin Tarantino told radio host Howard Stern last year he and pal Brad Pitt liked to smoke weed, but now the director says neither he nor Pitt smoked pot when they were filming "Inglourious Basterds."
At the Oscar luncheon last Thursday, Quentin told the NY Daily News, "Brad doesn't smoke while he's acting. And I don't smoke while I'm directing."

Instead, the auteur director must put all his energy into his masterworks. "Inglourious Basterds" has been nominated for several Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and some prognosticators believe it could upset frontrunners "Avatar" and "The Hurt Locker."
