During the "Today" show Wednesday morning, "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest revealed he will be joining NBC to help cover the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
The conversation shifted when host Matt Lauer asked Ryan, "What kind of conversations" he's had with NBC about joining "Today." "Oh, they didn't tell you?" The conversations were about "filling in to do the weather," Seacrest joked. Lauer chimed in, "Can I say something? I think you'd be great at this job."
Seacrest revealed, "The plan is for me to join the NBC family and continue to have a role at the E! network. The first assignment will be to join the primetime team for the Olympics on NBC."
When asked about his plans for "American Idol," the busiest man in show business said, "I plan to stay there," adding that the deal isn't "quite there."
"Extra" friend and billionaire Donald Trump talked about the shocking death of Whitney Houston, telling AJ Calloway, "I knew Whitney very well. I went to their wedding. She was a great woman."
"Today" show host Matt Lauer will reportedly reconsider leaving the NBC show after his contract ends in December, if the network gives him a significant pay increase... to the tune of $30M?!
According to TMZ, the negotiations are currently in the works, but if NBC agrees, Lauer could earn as much as $30 million a year. He is currently taking home $17 million, which means the $30-million payout would give him a whopping 76 percent pay raise.
"Survivor" host Jeff Probst married Lisa Ann Russell on Monday, in what was reported as "an intimate ceremony at a private Los Angeles residence." Russell, 40, was previously married to actor Mark-Paul Gosselaar and shares custody of their two children.

On Wednesday morning, "CBS Evening News" anchor Katie Couric returned to "Today," where she told former co-host Matt Lauer that she will make a decision about her future in the next few weeks.
