Schneider is filling in for Marie’s brother, Donny Osmond, as he recovers from a torn gluteus maximus muscle that has sidelined him for at least two weeks. (He aggravated an existing injury when he leaped onto a piano during a performance.)
Marie talked about how her mother helped keep her and her brother grounded. “I think the greatest thing we had was amazing parents. I know that when the ‘Donny and Marie’ was the number one show, I would put in a 17-hour day. I'd come home and my mom would say, ‘Get to work. Clean the toilet, do the dishes.’ I'd say I've been working all day. She goes, ‘No, you've been playing all day. Now you get to work.
The Hallmark Channel has decided not to renew Marie Osmond's daytime talk show for a second season.
Hallmark said they wanted to take their daytime into a different direction, specifically more lifestyle shows offering how-to tips.
New and repeat episodes of "Marie" will air on Hallmark through September.

Rumors that singer/actress Marie Osmond went under the knife were sparked after she was snapped at the 80th Hollywood Christmas Parade on Sunday looking very taut, with fuller eyebrows and larger lips.
When asked to respond to the rumors, Osmond's camp said, "Not worth commenting on. Thanks."
The stars gathered Sunday to celebrate the 2011 Daytime Emmy Awards, where Marie Osmond gave "Extra" a great scoop: she's joining the cast of "The Bold and the Beautiful" for a guest appearance!
"I've done almost everything. I've never done daytime. I want to be a dark, devious character," laughed Osmond to "Extra" correspondent Adriana Costa.
After nearly 30 years since their first three-year marriage, singer Marie Osmond and former basketball player Stephen Craig tied the knot for a second time Wednesday in Las Vegas, People.com reports.
"I am so happy and look forward to sharing my life with Stephen, who is an amazing man as well as a great father to my children," said Osmond, 51, who has a son, Stephen, 28, with Craig, 54.
