The new season of TLC's "Kate Plus 8" follows the family as they travel across the globe to Australia and soak up the culture, warm weather, and learn about the animals that are unique to the territory.

The Gosselin family had exciting encounters with sharks, alligators, and koala bears. Kate described a "life-changing event" -- "I fell in love with a koala."

Reality TV star Sarah Palin has been getting a lot of heat from animal rights activists after shooting a caribou on her TLC show, "Sarah Palin's Alaska," -- and the former Governor had some words for them Friday morning in an interview with "Good Morning America's" Robin Roberts.

"We eat, therefore we hunt -- and I am thankful that I get to feed my kids organic food," Palin said. "If they don't wear leather shoes and a belt and drive a car with leather seats and they eat no meat, then they have somethin' to say. And I can listen to them when they say, 'How dare you kill an animal to feed a family?' because they don't participate in that. And at least they're sincere about it."

It doesn't look like Kate Gosselin is one for the great outdoors.

Two of the Gosselin children have reportedly been permanently expelled from a private school in Pennsylvania.

Collin and Alexis Gosselin, both 6, are now being home-schooled, a source close to the family told People.com, but said reports that their expulsion was because of bullying and violent behavior have been overblown.

"The situation is being grossly overstated," the source explained. "The kids are going through a challenging time, but Kate doesn't feel this is something that should be discussed publicly. It is a private matter."

The reality TV mom has said in the past that the divorce has taken a bit of a toll on the kids, but for the most part, twins Cara and Mady and sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Leah, Aaden, Collin and Joel, are handling things pretty well. "They're just amazing, resilient, loving kids," she recently told People.com.

Reality TV star Kate Gosselin is serious about staying in shape since her "Dancing with the Stars" days.

She recently appeared on the cover of People magazine, saying she is "the most fit I've ever been," crediting her near-daily runs outside her Wernersville, PA home.
