New interviews on the “Sparkle” DVD reveal Whitney Houston’s love for her young co-stars and dedication to the project she starred in and produced.
“They are the three most warm and loving and supportive young women that I’ve come across in a long time,” Houston said of Jordin Sparks, Carmen Ejogo and Tika Sumpter. “I have really come to be like their mother in a sense. I’m so proud of them, I don’t know what to do.”Whitney Houston passed away six months before her longtime project “Sparkle” hit the big screen. Now, Jordin Sparks and her fellow cast mates are paying tribute to the legend.
Sparks told “Extra’s” Terri Seymour that she considers Whitney a mentor and that "one of the biggest things she taught me was never forget where you come from and always be humble."
After the "American Idol" finalists performed for the last time Tuesday night, "Extra" went backstage to ask America's burning question: "Who is going to be crowned the season 11 champ?"

The "Sparkle" producers are racing to finish the film because of fear that Houston's performance will be illegally obtained and leaked online.


Socialite Paris Hilton created a music video called "Drunk Text," in which she doesn't quite sing, but speaks in a monotone voice over some beats. The video, which leaked online today, was quickly pulled from YouTube, with a copyright violation claim by Black Hole recordings.

"American Idol" alum Jordin Sparks stayed fit while in town for the 2012 Super Bowl, checking out Reebok's CrossFit workout with her dad Phillipi Sparks, a former NY Giants player.
It was Jordin's first time doing CrossFit and she loved the workout. It was a great way for her to maintain her recent weight loss.

Singer Whitney Houston is making a triumphant return to the big screen!
Houston sat down with "Extra's" AJ Calloway, and revealed, "I've matured in so many ways. I'm good where I am at this moment."
Whitney is set to star in "Sparkle," about three sisters who are in a successful young singing group. She last starred in "Preacher's Wife" fifteen years ago, and expressed excitement for playing the role of the sisters' mom, Emma. "I'm comfortable now... my daughter is my greatest inspiration. She has trained me for this role."
