Johnny Depp's Caribbean adventure isn't over just yet! The actor may have ended his hunt for treasure as a pirate, but remains near the sea for his upcoming role in the action flick, "The Rum Diary."
Depp, co-starring with Aaron Eckhart, Amber Heard and Richard Jenkins, plays Paul Kemp, who works at a run-down newspaper in Puerto Rico in the 1950s.
In it's fourth installment of charting the rough seas, "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" hoisted $90.1 million in box office treasure during its opening weekend, according to Deadline.
Disney projected "POTC 4" to break $100 million on its opening weekend, and although it didn't quite make it, the film still came out on top as the biggest debut of any film this year. On Friday it pulled in $35 million and on Saturday, $32 million.
"Extra" talked with actor Robert Downey Jr. at the L.A. premiere of "The Hangover 2," where we asked him if he'd ever do a film with his pal, Johnny Depp.
"That would be a very low-budget venture. My dry cleaning budget is most film budgets at this point," laughed Downey Jr.
The actor's wife, producer Susan Levin, interjected, "I think it would be fun. Gotta find the right thing."
"Thor" held on to the top spot at the box office over the weekend while runner-up "Bridesmaids" surpassed industry expectations with an impressive $24.4 million debut, according to studio estimates. Read full story at MTVNews.com./

"Extra" chatted with Johnny Depp, Penelope Cruz, Keith Richards and Kirstie Alley at the "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" premiere on Saturday at the Happiest Place on Earth -- Disneyland!
Depp told Terri Seymour he was happy to go on some rides with his children after the premiere. "Oh yes, absolutely," he confirmed. Johnny revealed he and good pal Steven Tyler are currently writing a song together. "We've been hanging out here and there. He's someone I've admired greatly for such a long time. The idea of writing songs with him is a dream come true."
Actor Johnny Depp talked with "Extra's" Jerry Penacoli about the upcoming "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" -- and how his kids idolize Robert Downey Jr. as "Iron Man" more than Depp's role as Jack Sparrow.
"Bob Downey, we've known one another for a million years," Depp explained. "He and his wife came over for dinner and my son just couldn't believe that he was sitting next to Iron Man, so I saw Captain Jack leave my son's eyes and Iron Man was the ticket."
