The film "21 Jump Street," starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, began 21 years ago as a popular prime-time TV drama about a young undercover police unit.

Responsible for launching the careers of several superstars, including three-time Oscar nominee Johnny Depp, "Extra" wanted to know what happened to all the stars of the '80s teen-craze show. Where are they now?

What Happened to the Original Cast of "21 Jump Street?"

Holly Robinson Peete

The only original cast member to stay with the show for the entire five seasons as Sergeant Judy Hoffs, she went on to starring roles in the TV series "Hanging with Mr. Cooper" and "For Your Love." In 1995 she married NFL quarterback Rodney Peete and founded the Hollyrod Foundation in 1997 after one of her sons was diagnosed with autism. More recently, Holly finished as runner-up in the third season of "Celebrity Apprentice," was axed from "The Talk" in 2011, and now stars on CBS's "Mike & Molly."

Johnny Depp

Depp's popular role as Officer Doug Penhall launched his career. After leaving the show in 1990, he starred in Tim Burton's "Edward Scissorhands." His wide-ranging talents were seen in "Donnie Brasco," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and all five "Pirates of the Caribbean," to name a few. The three-time Oscar nominee is currently filming his next feature, "The Lone Ranger," in which he stars as Tonto, due out next year.

Steven Williams

Steven Williams continued acting in many TV series, guest-starring in over 30 shows, including "Desperate Housewives," "Veronica Mars" and "Cold Case," though he is best known for his role as Mr. X in "The X-Files." He's currently starring on the CW show "Supernatural."

Peter DeLuise

Despite rising alongside Depp in the series, Peter fell short of achieving similar stardom. DeLuise, son of the late comedian Dom DeLuise, went on to make many guest appearances in shows like "Friends" and "3rd Rock from the Sun." He later became a director of science fiction, most notably the "Stargate" franchise. He is currently in post-production for several upcoming TV movies, including "Attention Students" and "Aliens in the House."

Dustin Nguyen

Nguyen aka Officer Harry Truman, was one of the few to make the leap from TV to movies, including "Rapid Fire," "3 Ninjas Kick Back" and "Little Fish," which was the number one film in Australia on its release. On the business side, Nguyen created an exclusive custom silver jewelry line called Imperial Rose Collections. Sadly, Nguyen was involved in a car accident in 2001 which left his wife a quadriplegic. Both have been active with The Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Resource Center.

Richard Grieco

Shortly after "21 Jump Street," the young sex symbol starred in the short-lived spinoff, "Booker," before giving up acting in the early '90s. Grieco began a musical career in 1994 with the release of his album "Waiting for the Sky to Fall." In 2004, he formed a band called Wasteland Park.Fun Fact: Grieco was the inspiration for Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan's characters in "A Night at the Roxbury," in which he had a small cameo as himself.

Sal Jenco

Jenco landed the role of "Blowfish" in the teeny-bopper sitcom when he visited his old roommate Johnny Depp in 1987. He has done guest appearances in films such as "Donnie Brasco" and the TV series "The Wonder Years." His real passion is music, and in 1993 he formed a short-lived band called "P," with Gibby Haynes, Depp and Bill Carter. He and Depp also co-owned a popular bar in Hollywood, the Viper Room, which featured new-wave bands and was a hangout for Hollywood's elite.
