After a rough couple of months, Operation Smile honored Jessica Simpson on Friday night at the Annual Smile Gala in Beverly Hills.

J. Simp was awarded the Operation Smile Founders Circle Award for her dedication to improving the lives of children throughout the world suffering from facial deformities.

At the gala, papa Joe Simpson dished to UsMagazine.com about Jessica's new reality show "The Price of Beautyl{ Jessica "becomes a geisha in Japan," Joe says. "In Uganda, we sat in a fattening hut because, in Uganda... fat is beautiful. So the bigger you are, the more beautiful you are. She was with a girl who had been in a hut preparing for her wedding for two months and 25 days on a 5,000 calorie-a-day diet." Joe revealed their next stop is Morocco.

Simpson also tells the mag he's proud of his eldest daughter, saying, "She's always scrutinized by the world and [it's great] to watch her go to other countries and see women talk about what is beautiful there."

Jessica and Ashlee's pop Joe Simpson has seen his share of highs and lows with respect to his highly publicized family -- and Joe is bursting with excitement at the prospect of becoming a grandfather.

"I'm too young!" Simpson joked to OK! magazine. "I'm very happy -- I can't be more excited." Joe adds, "Ashlee looks beautiful and is really excited."

The 24-year-old singer announced in May that she and hubby Pete Wentz were expecting their first child. Simpson and her Fall Out Boy recently celebrated the impending arrival of their little one with a Winnie-the-Pooh baby shower.

Joe managed his girls through the ups and downs of fame -- and has a piece of advice for the parents-to-be. "Hold on for dear life -- because it's a ride."

Joe Simpson recently gave away daughter Ashlee in a rocker wedding with baby daddy Pete Wentz. Now, Simpson is dishing to "Extra" about his new son-in-law -- and revealing what he said to Wentz in a wedding toast.

"I love Pete to death... he is a lot like me. This is a moment that I honestly said [to Pete] at the wedding," said Joe. "I said, 'Girls marry their fathers. You are as close to me as I could ask for. You're a special kid.' He has a special heart. I'm honored to have Pete as my son-in-law."

Dad Simpson Dishes on Daughters

Joe Simpson -- the notorious father of starlets Jessica and Ashlee -- is sitting down with "Extra" and blasting rumors from his alleged controlling ways to the questions surrounding his superstar daughters.

"The media says that I try to plan everything. If I had half of the power they give me... Ashlee and Jessica don't call me and ask me. They call me and tell me," says the father/manager of his famous offspring.

Simpson also dished on daughter Ashlee's recent wedding to rocker Pete Wentz, saying, "I'm honored to have Pete as my son-in-law." When asked about the sex of Ashlee's Wentz-to-be, the grandpa-to-be added, "I would love to have a boy, but I know how to raise girls so I'm good with that."

Joe nixed reports that Jess split from QB BF Tony Romo, saying, "That's going well -- she is as happy as I've seen her in years." He continues, "He's a great guy. I love Tony to death -- he's just a good kid."
