Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward, who recently took home the mirrored trophy on "Dancing with the Stars" with partner Kym Johnson, was arrested for investigation of drunken driving in Georgia.
Ward, 35, was booked on a DUI charge at the DeKalb County jail early Saturday morning and later released on $1,000 bail, according to jail records. Ward's longtime friend Corey Allen posted bail.
No other details of his arrest were immediately available.
While "Dancing" winners Kym Johnson and Hines Ward rehearsed at the studio two weeks ago, they attempted a move that could almost seriously injured Kym. Hines fell on top of Johnson while her neck was bent, and in a scary moment after the tumble she said, "I can't feel my arms."
Before the "Dancing" finale, "Extra" caught up with Hines, who said he felt horrible about his partner's injury. "Knowing I had some impact on her getting carted off in an ambulance, I got emotional about it."
"Dancing with the Stars" finalist Kirstie Alley gave "Extra" special correspondent Tony Dovolani a colorful reaction to taking second place in the show's big finale.
"How many expletives am I allowed in a five-minute period of time?" kidded Alley. "F**k, f**k, motherf**k, f**kity, f**kity, f**k, f**k!"
In all seriousness, Alley was grateful for the experience. "If I look at it... out of all the people that were here and we got second -- it's an amazing achievement."
"Dancing with the Stars" favorite Kirstie Alley recently slipped on a dress she wore at the start of the season, but it had to be taken in a lot -- 38 inches, to be exact! The actress spoke to "Extra's" Renee Bargh, who commented on Alley's amazing weight loss, saying, "You look smaller and smaller!" Kirstie replied, "'Cause you're my goal!"
Although the star is happy about the 70 pounds she's lost, she revealed, "It's not where I want to be, but it's a good start. I've lost weight, but the thing is, I've been getting incredibly strong!"
Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward tied with Chelsea Kane in the finals on Monday night, earning 59 out of 60 points. Kirstie Alley lagged behind, with 54 points.

"Dancing with the Stars" judge Bruno Tonioli stopped by The Grove and shared his thoughts about each of the final dancing duos.
Of Kirstie Alley and Maks Chmerkovskiy, Tonioli told "Extra's" Terri Seymour, "She's a natural, especially in Latin. She's very, very good. She just has to put the finishes into what she does, strength and cleanliness."
"Dancing with the Stars" finalists Kirstie Alley, Chelsea Kane and Hines Ward plan to bring it next week in the show's finale -- especially Alley, who is ready to take some chances.
"I want to do some risky things," the actress told "Extra" special correspondent Tony Dovolani. "Aerials. Cirque du Soleil things."
And she hopes her partner Maks doesn't kill her in the process. "I really just told him not to kill me, honestly. There's certain ways you can die that people feel bad for you and there's certain ways you can die and people laugh at you for the rest of their lives."
