"Extra" caught up with "American Idol" contestant Haley Reinhart on the red carpet and asked her about preparing to go onstage if finalist Lauren Alaina's vocal chord problems prevented her from singing.
"I had somebody come up to me tell me what her condition was," explained Reinhart. "They didn't know if she could sing or not. They asked me to do it and said to pick out some tunes I already did. It was an honor that they asked me; they never did this for somebody else on the show."
"Extra" has learned from a source close to the "American Idol" production that finalist Lauren Alaina has lost her voice and is currently receiving medical treatment.

Alaina -- who has been losing her voice -- was supposed to sing three songs, but struggled and couldn't finish her third song.

Haley Reinhart managed to keep a smile on her face even after she slipped and fell while singing Led Zeppelin's "What Is and What Should Never Be," and she forgot some of the lyrics to Alanis Morissette's "You Outta Know."
