“Olympus Has Fallen” star Gerard Butler is planning to take a break from acting to produce. The time off won’t be all work and no play. Butler also plans to “have some fun."

On meeting the Romanian model, Butler explained, “I met her here in New York, and we hung out all night, didn't even kiss, tried on my hat collection. I said 'I'm coming to visit you in Milan,' and three days later, I was at her door in Milan. She was like, ‘Whoa!’”

Actor Gerard Butler is lucky to be alive! The “Chasing Mavericks” star revealed to “Extra” that he nearly died while making the surfing movie. It happened when a set of waves pulled him underwater, dragging him over deadly reefs.

“It went from that stage of, ‘this is scary’ to ‘wait a minute…this is getting to be too much’ and then you start going ‘this might be it,’” Butler told Jerry Penacoli.

When Gerard finally came up from the waves, his colleagues couldn’t reach him and he went back down again. He explained, “What happened to me – maybe it's because I got through it – was an incredible experience. And will remain with me forever. It was very profound.”

Gerard Butler checked in to the Betty Ford Center for substance abuse three weeks ago, according to TMZ.

The actor was reportedly relying on prescription pain pills after he was injured on the set of action movie "300" in 2006. Butler's problem intensified after suffering a surfing accident while filming "Of Men and Mavericks" last December.

Glanville, who was previously married to LeAnn Rimes' husband, Eddie Cibrian, said she and Butler hooked up more than once and had a "week of fun" last summer. The 39-year-old mom of two giggled, and rated the handsome actor an 11 out of 10 for his skills in the bedroom.
