Will Hollywood's littlest leading lady, Dakota Fanning, be baring a set of fangs for the sequel to "Twilight"?
According to E! online, the 14-year-old starlet -- who has shared the screen with bigwigs like Tom Cruise and Robert De Niro -- is in talks to star as the vampire Jane in "New Moon." A source dished, "There were no auditions -- they just offered it to her outright, and now they're in negotiations. They've been going back and forth."
In Stephenie Meyer's hit book, Jane is one of the most powerful bloodsuckers in the vampire world -- and an enemy of the film's protagonists, Edward and Bella.
Chris Weitz is scheduled to begin filming "New Moon" in March -- with a tentative release date of November 2009.
