Christina Applegate was spotted at a Los Angeles area hospital this morning -- the first time she's been seen since the 36-year-old announced that she was diagnosed with early breast cancer.

The "Samantha Who?" star released a statement this past weekend confirming the cancer reports, stating, "Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery."

Christina Applegate stunned the world by bravely announcing she is battling breast cancer. Fortunately, the "Samantha Who?" star caught the cancer at an early stage.

Now, "Extra" is going one-on-one with NY oncologist Dr. Sharon Rosenbaum, who shared three important tips for breast cancer prevention:

"Get your mammogram every year, and do your own self exam every month," shares Rosenbaum. "Finally, it's very important to know that not all lumps are cancers, so women should not be scared if they do feel something -- but it's certainly something they should see their doctor for."

Emmy winner Christina Applegate has been diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer. "Extra" has learned that the "Samantha Who?" star checked into a Los Angeles hospital under an alias -- and a security guard was stationed outside of her room.
