"Star Trek's" recent Captain Kirk aka Chris Pine, is taking a break from the big screen and enjoying treading the boards in his new play, "The Lieutenant of Inishmore."
Playing an Irish terrorist on a quest to save his cat, Chris told "Extra" that this play is like "being a rock star. It's two hours, it's quick, it's fast."
Chris Pine chatted about the potential "Star Trek" sequel and what's next for the rising star!
"Star Trek" has grossed over $380,000,000 worldwide and there are rumors about a sequel. "They want to get stuff going for 2011, so I don't know if that means we'll shoot next year or what, but I haven't heard anything one way or the other," Pine dished to the Los Angeles Times.
When asked if the whole cast would return, Chris answered, "As far as I know, yeah."
The 28-year-old starts shooting the thriller "Unstoppable" this fall. He says, "To be doing a movie with Denzel Washington and Tony Scott is like a kid's dream." Pine adds, "I've watched and been a fan of both of theirs for as long as I can remember."
He's currently starring in the play "Farragut North" alongside "Sex and the City" star Chris Noth -- and earlier this year he crushed the box office in "Star Trek." There's a lot more to learn about 28-year-old mega-hottie Chris Pine!

Set against the backdrop of a close presidential race, Pine plays a young press secretary working for a fast-rising candidate. Noth stars as a campaign manager.
"Farragut North" runs from June 18 - July 26, 2009 at Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles.
