Lots of good news for fans of "The Voice" on Thursday... not only is Cee Lo Green returning to the show, but Usher and Shakira are too!
Entertainment Weekly confirmed the news, explaining that Green and fellow coach Christina Aguilera will come back to the singing competition in the fall, while Shakira and Usher will return in the spring. Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are reportedly signing on for both cycles.
Cee Lo chatted with “Extra’s” A.J. Calloway about his return, while praising newcomers Usher and Shakira.
“I'm very confident on my seat on that show," said Green, who is also launching his own TBS reality show called “The Cee Lo Life.” "Much love to Usher and Shakira, they did a great job coming in and being introduced to the format. They did a wonderful job, but the original cast will be back.”
“The Voice” is getting the old gang back together with Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and maybe Cee Lo Green too!
According to The Wrap, Aguilera signed a lucrative deal between $12.5 and $17 million to return to the show for Season 5. Meanwhile, Cee Lo is still in negotiations, but an announcement is expected soon.It’s official; “The Voice” has a new winner! Mario asked Aguilera and Green why they decided to take a break next season. The coaches let loose on each other like never before. Levine said, “'Extra's’ going to be so crazy. I'll be watching. I hope you are -- don't be stupid!” Blake Shelton chimed in, “If you don't watch 'Extra' on Monday, you probably eat your own boogers.”"The Voice" coaches, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, are joining "Extra" at The Grove in Los Angeles, and we want you to be part of the action! The event will take place after "The Voice's" first live taping on Monday, November 5.
The special event will start at 6:30 PM with the opportunity to take a picture with "The Voice" chair, participate in a live singing competition in front of the judges, and ask a question of the coach of your choice! The event will end at 9PM.
Fans can participate in two ways...
NBC broke some big “Voice” news on Monday, naming Usher and Shakira as new coaches for the fourth season. The two singers will replace Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green as mentors on the hit reality show.
Aguilera plans to release an album, “Lotus,” on Nov. 13 and go on tour, while Cee Lo is developing new music and a scripted NBC comedy series based on his own life. Fellow judges Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will remain on “The Voice.”
