“Funny Girl” Barbra Streisand will perform at the 2013 Oscars! Shockingly, the two-time winner has only performed once before at the ceremony, and that was 36 years ago.

In the comedy, Streisand plays an overprotective mom who drives cross-country with her son (Seth Rogen). The actress’ real life son, Jason, read the script and talked her into taking the role. Barbra explained, “He said, ‘Ma, I think you should do it.’”
Superstar Barbra Streisand is returning to the big screen after a 16-year hiatus! The Oscar winner told “Extra’s” Jerry Penacoli that it was her son, Jason, who convinced her to take a role in “The Guilt Trip.”
“That was the clincher,” she explained, “He said ‘Mom, I think you should do it.”
Penacoli spoke with Streisand and “Guilt Trip” co-star Seth Rogen and asked about revisiting the “The Way We Were” characters. Streisand smiled, “It's an interesting thing you should mention it… perhaps.”

Streisand talks about the upcoming duets album she’s working on with “Babyface” Edmonds that feature her first duet with her son, Jason Gould.
According to Streisand, “When I heard the things he’s recorded, the musicianship, the sound of his voice, it’s like he has a little chamber music orchestra right in his vocal chords.”
