Yankees playboy Alex Rodriguez was spotted on the streets of Miami, ducking a paparazzo's question about a possible romance with newly single Jennifer Lopez. When asked, "J.Lo's single now, any possibilities there?" the handsome shortstop kept mum, and instead whistled as he walked away.
J.Lo, who recently split with Marc Anthony, is from NYC (just like Alex) and is a Yankees fan. Rodriguez and Lopez both have homes in Miami and would not only make a hot item, their couple nickname could be J-Rod!
In the coming weeks, baseball officials want to find out about A-Rod's alleged participation in illegal poker games, prompted by Star magazine's June report that said Rodriguez had participate in a high-stakes underground poker game with actors Tobey Maguire, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.

The rumor Cameron Diaz and BF Alex Rodriguez have split up is quickly losing steam, instead, the romance appears to be heating up.
Along with their recent romantic canoodling at an MTV Movie Awards after-party, the two were spotted Monday checking out a Miami building site where the New York Yankees player, 35, is reportedly building a new house, says People.com.
"Extra" caught up with lovely actress Cameron Diaz as she was being honored with the CinemaCon Female Star of the Year award in Las Vegas -- and asked her about the rumor that she's developing a movie to star in with real-life beau, baseball star Alex Rodriguez.
"I don't know where these things come from," Diaz laughed. "It's absolutely not true. I don't write. Wow, when did I become a writer?"
On vacation with beau Alex Rodriguez and his two daughters, Cameron Diaz ran into A-lister George Clooney at an exclusive Los Cabos resort in Mexico.
The stars were photographed hugging after their surprise meeting while soaking up the south-of-the-border sun.
Clooney is vacationing with girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis and her parents, while Diaz has been enjoying her time with the Yankee slugger and his daughters Natasha, 6, and Ella, 2.
Blonde beauty Kate Hudson seems to be playing the field better than her ex-boyfriend, Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez... the dating field, that is.
Hudson, 30, is reportedly dating three eligible bachelors right now. The first is cameraman Darren Ankenman, whom she met while filming "Bride Wars." The second is a big-time hedge fund manager based in Los Angeles, and her third reported fling is with Australian golfer Adam Scott, whom she first met last year.
Kate Hudson and Alex Rodriguez have called it quits, a source tells Usmagazine.com.
The New York Yankee showed up solo to the Armani Exchange "Cool Shades of Style" dinner at Miami's Delano Hotel Saturday night, where was overheard telling people they broke up, a source says.
Hudson has been promoting "Nine" in New York City, and was most recently spotted at a gym in SoHo Sunday.
In an appearance on "Late Night with David Letterman" Thursday, Hudson giggled when asked about her beau, whom she began dating this past spring.
"Yeah, he's a nice guy," she said coyly.
They were last spotted together earlier this month in London for the premiere of her dance flick.
