"Extra" caught up with lovely actress Cameron Diaz as she was being honored with the CinemaCon Female Star of the Year award in Las Vegas -- and asked her about the rumor that she's developing a movie to star in with real-life beau, baseball star Alex Rodriguez.
"I don't know where these things come from," Diaz laughed. "It's absolutely not true. I don't write. Wow, when did I become a writer?"

The New York Yankee showed up solo to the Armani Exchange "Cool Shades of Style" dinner at Miami's Delano Hotel Saturday night, where was overheard telling people they broke up, a source says.

Hudson has been promoting "Nine" in New York City, and was most recently spotted at a gym in SoHo Sunday.
In an appearance on "Late Night with David Letterman" Thursday, Hudson giggled when asked about her beau, whom she began dating this past spring.
"Yeah, he's a nice guy," she said coyly.
They were last spotted together earlier this month in London for the premiere of her dance flick.

When pressed by David Letterman Thursday night, the "Nine" star, 30, said, "Yeah, he's a friend of mine. Nice guy."
When the "Late Show" host urged her to reveal how they met, Hudson giggled and said, "Can't we talk about the holidays?" She laughed as Letterman then asked her what they did together on Thanksgiving.

"So is he a nice guy?" Letterman went on.
Said Hudson, "Yeah, he's a nice guy. You just can't help yourself! You just can't! I knew it was going to come at some point!"

The two were spotted in workout clothes at a Gold's Gym in Venice Beach, Calif. that morning.
Hudson kissed Rodriguez in front of more than 200 gymgoers, according to TMZ.com.

But their affection quickly wore off: they left the gym separately.
Kate Hudson spent the baseball season cheering on boyfriend Alex Rodriguez -- and his former manager Joe Torre thinks that it helped the Yankees win their 27th World Series.

"Somebody is relaxing him, that's all I can say, because he certainly looked like he enjoyed himself this year." Torre tells "Extra" in an interview to promote the Safe at Home Foundation, which raises awareness of domestic violence.
Torre goes on, "I know how important baseball is to him, so whatever the reason, it seems to be working."

Hudson, 30, and Rodriguez, 34, have been dating since May 2009.

How did Kate Hudson quickly shed 20 pounds to play a terminally ill woman in drama "Earthbound"?
Cutting alcohol, she tells December's British Elle. And she admits it wasn't easy to stay on the wagon -- especially while spending time in NYC with boyfriend Alex Rodriguez.
"I love my glass of wine. I love tequila," she bemoans. "To be in New York for two weeks and not have one beverage! I'm not sure I've ever done that."
Hudson -- who falls in love with her doctor in the flick, played by Gael Garcia Bernal -- says she's not super skinny.
"I'm pretty solid, actually," says the actress, 30. "I'm not, like, 110lbs. But I'm probably heading towards that."
Hudson admits she's pleased with her looks for the moment, but wouldn't mind tweaking them as she ages.
"I was in a press conference once, and someone says, 'So, I can tell you've never had Botox!' Is that a compliment? Or are you trying to say I'm starting to get wrinkles?"
"Everyone's so obsessed with who gets Botox, but it's great! Are you kidding?" she goes on. "The fact that women can avoid going under the knife, and get a little Botox treat and not have to worry about it? I'm glad it's there for when it's time."
Hudson shares her thoughts on guys.
"I love boys... but I believe they're really simple. Every guy likes to say that they're complicated, but they're so easy to figure out," she says. "What did that Dr. Laura say? Something like, 'All men want is sex and for you to make them a sandwich.' I thought that was really funny -- and not entirely untrue."
Still, she's in no hurry to say "I do" to her New York Yankees beau anytime soon, despite engagement rumors.
She admits to the December 2009 issue of British Elle that she was recently spotted with a new ring -- but it was on the wrong finger!
"Did you know that it was this one, on my right hand? I hear about this, and I'm like, 'Why would I even respond?'" she says. "What would I say if you're going to lie about something ridiculous?"
