The 2011 American Music Award nominees were announced Tuesday morning by Nicki Minaj and Pitbull at the J.W. Marriott in L.A.

Singer Adele leads this year's awards with four nominations for Artist of the Year, Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist and Favorite Album for "21."

Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Katy Perry were among the major winners at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

Gaga won the first award, landing the "Best Video with a Message" video during the pre-show. She -- or should we say her alter ego Jo Calderone -- later picked up Best Female Video for "Born This Way," accepting on behalf of Gaga.
The stars hit the red carpet for the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday at the Nokia Theatre. Selena Gomez posed for a photo with British sensation Adele, who has seven nominations and is set to perform during the evening.

The 3-D animated flick "Rio" debuted over the weekend and drew a whopping $40 million -- topping the box office with the highest-grossing weekend for a film this year.

Paula Abdul is set to be the host with the most!
The former "American Idol" judge tweeted that she will be hosting "VH1 Divas" on September 17, saying, "Hi guys! im really excited 2 announce ill b hosting this year's "Vh1 Divas"! The show will be live on Sept 17th @ 9 pm EST."
Her tweet continued, "This year's VH1 Divas show will honor Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Jordin Sparks, Leona Lewis and Miley Cyrus -- I am so excited!!"
Yesterday, Entertainment Weekly announced that Paula was no longer set to appear on "Ugly Betty" -- and Kristen Johnston would be replacing her in the guest spot.

After a four-year hiatus, VH1 is bringing back "VH1 Divas" with some of the biggest names in the biz! Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis and Miley Cyrus are scheduled to perform on VH1 this September.
Additional performers and presenters will be announced in the coming weeks, but fans can go to Divas.VH1.com to submit a "Diva Stories" text or video testimonial that tells the world how their favorite diva has influenced their life. Select testimonials may be featured online and on VH1.
The event will raise funds for the VH1 Save the Music Foundation, and the "VH1 Divas" concert will air live on VH1 September 17.
"Extra" host Mario Lopez was backstage at the Grammy Awards with songbirds Katy Perry, Estelle, Adele, M.I.A. and Duffy -- and from Valentine's Day to making babies, backstage turned into Flirt Fest '09!
