Fans of the new FOX series “Red Band Society” banded together to donate $100,000 to charity and unlocked the first episode to be viewed for a limited time before its official premiere on September 17!
The show star Octavia Spencer, Dave Annable and a charismatic cast of fresh faces and is a provocative, unconventional and unique coming-of-age dramedy about a group of rule-bending friends and the adults who mentor them through the ups and downs of adolescence in Los Angeles’ Ocean Park Hospital.
"Extra" Senior Music Correspondent Adam Weissler recently sat down with singer Annie Lennox to chat about her upcoming album of pop and jazz standards, mostly from the 1930s, titled "Nostalgia."
Lennox also chatted about the process of selecting songs to cover, including why she chose "Strange Fruit," a song popularized by singer Billie Holliday which is based on a poem written by Abel Meeropol in 1937 about the lynching of African-Americans in the South.
Annie explained that even though the song is about a specific time in history, she believes its reminder of mankind's own cruelty, violence and injustice resonates today.
