Using an image of the model with a black bar over her breasts is a bit prudish, isn't it? As a medical anthropologist breast cancer researcher, and co-author of Dressed to Kill: The Link Between Breast Cancer and Bras, I am happy to see this new, healthier fashion trend. Research shows that constriction of the breasts in tight bras for long hours each day, year after year, is the leading cause of breast cancer as well as cysts and pain. But "killer" fashion does not have to kill, as more models are showing. But we need to get past the immaturity that thinks of breasts and nipples as taboo.
