New Abercrombie Catalog
Is the racy catalogue that loves to push the envelope back to pushing clothes again?
Hampton Carney of Abercrombie & Fitch says, “This issue has less skin than what we've shown in the past, but I can tell you it's going to be very fun to look at.”
Hampton tells “Extra” that A&F's spring break
2002 catalogue definitely has a lot more stitches on the fitches.
He says, “This catalogue is themed around love and romance.
It's all about a group of kids on spring break who jump on
a train and go down south to have fun, fall in love and experience
the pleasures of life."
Once the stylish choice for safari gear, Abercrombie & Fitch
in recent years began hunting down college customers and controversy.
But you won't find porn star interviews, same sex kisses or
daring derrieres when spring blooms this year. Hampton says,
“After September 11th, we felt the theme of the catalogue
was very appropriate with the way the mood of the country
was."
Sure, there's still plenty of six-pack abs and seductive shots
in the spring issue, but skin won't really be back in until
summer when A&F takes the sport of sex back to the beach. And
back to the catalogue.
