The Rivals

Newspaper editors and broadcast producers have named Tina Fey the AP Entertainer of the Year. The "30 Rock" star was selected as the performer with the greatest impact on culture and entertainment in 2008.
This year, Fey returned to "Saturday Night Live" to impersonate Gov. Sarah Palin and helped the show's ratings skyrocket. Tina became a writer for "SNL" in 1997, and two years later was named the show's first female head writer.
The 38-year-old also made a mark at the box office with fellow "SNL" alum Amy Poehler, co-starring in the hit movie "Baby Mama" -- which grossed $60 million in theaters. Fey also won three Emmys for her work on "30 Rock" and was recently nominated for a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild award.
"Iron Man's" Robert Downey Jr. was the runner-up for his comeback in the action flick. Third place went to Heath Ledger for his role as The Joker in "The Dark Knight."

The mother of Bristol Palin's fiancé was arrested yesterday in Alaska on drug charges! The Anchorage Daily News says Sherry Johnston, mother of Levi Johnston, was charged with six felony counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance.
Levi and Bristol, both 18, are expecting a baby and have made plans to get hitched. Gov. Sarah Palin's father, Chuck Heath, said in a recent interview that Bristol is due this Saturday.
The Palin camp told the Anchorage Daily News, "This is not a state government matter. Therefore the governor's communications staff will not be providing comment or scheduling interview opportunities."
Politico reports Johnston has been released from the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility on a $2,000 bond.

Sarah Palin's makeup artist, Amy Strozzi, says the Alaska Gov is cosmetically gifted. "The Governor's skin is the most beautiful skin I have ever worked with," Strozzi exclusively told TalkingShopping.com .
Her flawless complexion is due to "Alaskan air, lots of fresh fish and protein, and a good fitness regime," says the Emmy-nominated makeup queen.
Palin preferred mostly Chanel and M.A.C., though she was "definitely a bit apprehensive at first" about having her makeup done, until she came to love those lashes! "She got very accustomed to the individual lashes I would put on her every morning. Unfortunately, they're not so easy to do yourself!" said Strozzi.

Talk show queen Oprah Winfrey is setting the record straight regarding rumors that Sarah Palin wasn't invited as a guest on her talk show.
"I said I would be happy to talk to Sarah Palin when the election was over," Oprah reveals to "Extra." "I went and tried to talk to Sarah Palin and instead she talked to Greta Van Susteren. She talked to Matt Lauer. She talked to Larry King, but she didn't talk to me. But maybe she'll talk to me now that she has a book deal."
Lady O's couches are always ready for President-elect Barack Obama and wife Michelle. "There's always an open invitation for the President-elect and First Lady."
Winfrey served as an honorary chair at Alvin Ailey's Dance Theatre's 50th anniversary celebration -- and kidded with "Extra" about having two left feet! "In my wildest, wildest, crazy, crazy dreams, I am a dancer," O joked. "When I've like had too many tequila shots and I go to sleep, I dream of being a dancer."
Things took a serious turn when Oprah opened up about the wildfires that devastated homes in Santa Barbara also threatened to take her Montecito home. Winfrey was evacuated -- and told "Extra" she grabbed a book of letters from Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey and the ladies that attended her Legends Ball. "So when the fires were coming and the flames were a blowin', I said, 'Get my letters!'"

Rumor has it former VP hopeful Sarah Palin is penning a book -- and reportedly stands to gain $7 million for her story! That's a lot of memoir, you betcha!
According to the NY Post, the Alaska governor is looking for a hot agent to handle book proposals that have been coming at her since her rise to international curiosity. The 44-year-old "hockey mom" has enjoyed a large following of supporters since being named John McCain's running mate this summer.
There has been no confirmation that Palin will write a book anytime soon.
Sarah Palin pardoned a turkey outside Wasilla yesterday -- but the age-old political tradition went terribly wrong!

While giving an interview, turkeys were being slaughtered right behind her -- and she appeared to have no idea.
As she answered questions at Triple D Farm & Hatchery in Alaska, cameras from the Anchorage Daily News also filmed an employee killing birds behind the former Veep candidate. She never commented about the slaughter. Instead, she discussed various matters regarding the state and her family, while oblivious to the carnage going on behind her.

Outspoken liberal Rosie O'Donnell admitted to "Extra" she would like to get a drink with former Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin! During opening night of "Billy Elliot: The Musical," Rosie revealed, "I'd like to have a beer with her. I'd like to meet her kids. She seems like a pretty nice woman. Although I have to say, I am thrilled her party did not win... if McCain won, I would be in the depression unit of the ICU."
O'Donnell also reacted to the passing of Proposition 8 in California. "I was married four years and I was annulled three years ago, so for me this fight is not new. Prop 8 is nothing new for me. This has been a long journey... and eventually the world will catch up." In February 2004, O'Donnell and partner Kelli Carpenter entered into a union in San Francisco just two weeks after the mayor authorized the granting of marriage licenses to same-sex couples. The marriage was later determined to be legal under California law.
Rosie O'Donnell's new project "Rosie Live" premieres this month on NBC.

Does "Desperate Housewives" Exec Producer Marc Cherry have his eye on Sarah Palin for a small guest-starring role on the hit comedy-drama's season finale?
The Alaska Governor and her family of six would fit perfectly in Fairview, and the winters are much warmer on Wisteria Lane... but it's looking like the guest spot is a lot of blubber.
An ABC rep tells "Extra" that there is absolutely no truth to the rumor, and that Palin will not appear on the show. Perhaps they can get Tina Fey?
