After days of speculation over Beyoncé’s alleged lipsynch of the National Anthem, a new source has stepped forward claiming the superstar chose a pre-recorded rendition of the song because she was busy preparing for the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Colonel Michael Colburn, Director of the Marine Corps Band, told The Times of London, “She’s getting ready for the Super Bowl, so we didn’t have a chance to do anything with her until the night, so it’s a very tight window of opportunity.”Did Beyoncé lipsynch the National Anthem at President Obama’s Inauguration ceremony on Monday? The backlash is hitting a fever pitch, one day after the Marine Corps Band claimed Bey sang along with a prerecorded track.
The band is even backtracking, releasing a statement to the Washington Post, saying, “No one in the Marine Band is in a position to assess whether it was live or pre-recorded.”President Obama’s second Inaugural Ball was a night to remember… so was the celebrity-packed, up-past-3AM after party!
