Host Ryan Seacrest kept the energy up, telling the audience to “keep the energy going for three of your four judges” and asking the panel, “Which one of you judges gave Nicki the wrong directions to the studio today?” and “Who drained the fuel from her car?”Carey told “Extra's” Terri Seymour, “Somebody stepped on the back of the dress on the way here so I changed into a Monique Lhuillier moment."
“American Idol” judge Nicki Minaj is blasting plastic surgery rumors, telling “Extra’s” Renee Bargh, “I’ve never had surgery on my face.”
The “Pink Friday” singer credits cosmetics for her ever-changing look, explaining, “When people see my makeup they think all types of crazy things that I'm doing to my skin, but it's makeup.”The competition heated up on “American Idol” Wednesday night as the sudden death rounds began in Las Vegas. Ten contestants took the stage, but only five made it through to the upcoming Hollywood sing-off.
Judge Mariah Carey told “Extra's" Terri Seymour, “I hated having to let certain people go. It’s so hard.”
Jackson explained, “What it means is that 10 people sing and five people have to go that night.” Carey added, “What they're up against is incredibly difficult, and I don't envy them because I like had to learn how to perform on TV, you know, on ‘Arsenio Hall.’”
FOX's “American Idol” kicked off Wednesday night with a whole lotta drama between feuding judges Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. After months of gossip about the dueling singers, the audience got to see firsthand just how much they hate each other. Oh, and there were some contestants auditioning too, but we’ll get to that later.
With fellow freshman judge Keith Urban in the middle, Carey and Minaj went at each other, arguing over Nicki’s leopard print hat.“Extra’s” Mario Lopez caught up with new “American Idol” judge Keith Urban and wife Nicole Kidman at the Golden Globes, where the singing star dished on the upcoming season.
Keith admitted, “Yeah, I thought it would be crazy, insane, fun… putting the fun back in dysfunction. It's completely all those things and we’ve got some killer singers, that’s the big thing about this year.”
