New Details on Peaches Geldof’s Death: Heroin ‘Likely’ Played a Role
The results of the toxicology tests show that TV personality Peaches Geldof had heroin in her system at the time of her death, and it “likely” played a role, an official inquest revealed on Thursday.
According to BBC News, Det. Chief Inspector Paul Fotheringham said at the inquest, "Recent use of heroin and the levels identified were likely to have played a role in her death.”
The 25-year-old, who was found dead in her home on April 7, was the second daughter of Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates, who died of a heroin overdose at the age of 41 when Peaches was only 11.
Peaches left behind her husband, musician Tom Cohen, and two young sons.
At the inquest hearing, it was revealed that Cohen found his wife "slumped" in the spare room on the bed with one leg on the floor, and called for his mother before contacting emergency services.
A full inquest will take place in late July.
