‘DWTS’ Recap: Surprise Double Elimination, Dating Rumors Run Rampant
“Dancing with the Stars” is shaking things up this season! In a surprise move, host Tom Bergeron announced on Monday that two dancing duos were going home.
First to go were Diana Nyad and Henry Byalikov, who despite getting the boot were still able perform their cha cha.
The second couple to go home was Sean Avery and Karina Smirnoff, even after performing a praised salsa.
The former pro hockey player was not happy about getting the ax, telling “Good Morning America” on Tuesday that he believes the “DWTS” producers had it out for him.
Avery said, “I think we knew as of Monday last week our fate was sealed. I had conversation with Conrad Green, one of the producers. I was upset at the package they had run the week before. It was a very tacky attempt to show me as the bad boy of ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ I think in reality TV or any competition, if you have a disagreement with the producers, that seals your fate quite early.”
Meanwhile, James Maslow and partner Peta Murgatroyd continue to fuel dating rumors when they danced a sultry, sexy salsa that included James stripping off his shirt.
The duo laughed about their hot number while backstage with “Extra’s” Renee Bargh. Maslow joked he might try going without pants. “I think we're going to split the difference and go ass-less chaps.”
"DWTS" will return next Monday on ABC!
