Daytona 500 Winner Jimmie Johnson on Kyle Larson and Danica Patrick

February 28, 2013 At the Grove
NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson, winner of the Daytona 500, made a pit stop at The Grove to chat with “Extra’s” Maria Menounos about the Kyle Larson crash, and the effect Danica Patrick has had on NASCAR.

Maria asked what goes through a driver’s mind when they see such a horrific crash. Johnson replied, “Just frightened. When the car gets in the fence, the cables and the pulls tear the car apart and those parts go somewhere, seems that everyone is doing well and hopefully will be home soon.”

As for Patrick’s participation, Johnson said, “I think there's a lot of interest in seeing her compete against the guys at the top level. I think it's great for our sport.”
