Lindsey Vonn Vows to Compete in 2014 Winter Olympics

February 26, 2013 Olympics

Despite a devastating skiing accident in Austria earlier this month, Lindsey Vonn has vowed to compete in the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.

Vonn is on the mend after tearing her ACL, MCL and fracturing the tibia in her right leg at a World Championship competition on Feb. 5.

She told the “Today” show's Matt Lauer, “Right now my goal is to be back for 2014 in Sochi (Russia). Honestly, in a worst-case scenario, if I trained a week before the Games, I’d be fine.”

Lindsey assured, “I have plenty of time to be ready for Sochi,” adding, “I initially thought it was going to be worse. There was just so much pain that I couldn’t quite tell where exactly it was coming from.”

She could be back on skis as early as November and racing again by December, according to Lauer.

The 28-year-old, rumored to be dating Tiger Woods, is currently recovering in Colorado.
