Seth MacFarlane Exclusive! Backstage Reactions from the 2013 Oscar Host
Host Seth MacFarlane came to the 2013 Oscars locked and loaded, and the stars came ready to duck and cover. Minutes after ripping and roasting the A-list in front of a billion people, “Extra’s” Maria Menounos nabbed an exclusive interview with MacFarlane backstage and got his reaction to the show.
Shatner's bit — via a Captain Kirk from the future — was meant to save MacFarlane from getting ripped by the press the day after the show. How did the “Family Guy” creator think he did?
“We'll let the always generous critics determine that,” he quipped.
While early reviews were mixed, Ben Affleck and George Clooney both thought he was “great.”
Ben explained, “I thought he walked a beautiful line between being sharp and making jokes that were funny, but also not just being over the top just to be over the top to show he could do it.”
Seth hit George with a zinger during the show, but the jab didn’t bother the Oscar winner, who explained, “I've never not gotten a hit, so I'm fine with that, but he's a friend. I like him a lot. I thought he was funny.”
Seth’s biggest supporters, his father Ron and sister Rachael, were behind him all the way. They told Mario before the show, “Seth we love you, we're so incredibly proud of you and we know you're going to be spectacular, absolutely spectacular... knock ‘em dead.”

Seth MacFarlane originally intended his song, "We Saw Your Boobs", to be an attack on traditional values. He wanted to mock those "prudish" Christians who believe there is too much nudity in Hollywood films. It completely backfired. Many actresses were offended and embarrassed by his song, even though they shouldn't have been. Let me try to explain.
Most Hollywood actresses are liberals who support the modern idea of "sexual liberation". They promote this idea by playing characters that are promiscuous and seductive in their films. It is hard to find a modern Hollywood movie that does not contain some scene with female nudity. Macfarlane's song made these nude scenes seem juvenile and immature - which they are. The problem is that the actresses who appear in these nude scenes actually take them seriously. They are proud of showing off their bodies in their films. They look at their nudity as a form of "high art" that is helping us create a more "progressive" society. Seth's song revealed these nude scenes for what they REALLY are - a publicly acceptable form of pornography that we should all be ashamed of.
Seth was....brutal. Started off good, all downhill after that.

Seth was great at hosting The Oscars. He's a natural at it and certainly lays the groundwork for lively and festive partying afterwards. I'll take him or Ricky Gervais over Billy Crystal or any of the other outdated MC's that the networks like to use as alternatives. The thing that gets me is that a day doesn't go by without harsh critics reviews all over the country who scathe these stars to the point that they're practically tearing their skin off and readers and reporters act like they are laying down holy gospel. Yet you take a guy like Seth MacFarlane who will rip into the stars shearly out of great humor and everybody finds him offensive. I could take ball busting from a guy like Seth MacFarlane any day of the week over having to put up with the parasitic crap from the media that any of these stars have to put up with day in and day out.

Seth MacFarlane was an embarrassment making jokes about women being abused, what is that? I don't get why that's considered so brilliant.
Seth McFarland did a good job last night hosting the Oscars. I don't see why people have to be so dang critical of those that aren't Politically Correct. He was hilarious. He could sing, dance & he made it fun & NOT boring. Political Correctness is NOTHING but an excuse to act like an ass.
What sick individuals - producers, directors and host actually approved the inappropriate song about women's breasts during the same telecast where a 9 YEAR old nominee was attending?
We thought that Seth was fabulous! Great entertainer, handsome and very talented.
