Lee recently weighed in on the Quentin Tarantino film about an American slave seeking revenge, saying in an interview, “it’s disrespectful to my ancestors, to see that film” and then tweeting, "American Slavery Was Not A Sergio Leone Spaghetti Western. It Was A Holocaust. My Ancestors Are Slaves. Stolen From Africa. I Will Honor Them."

Speaking with the Guardian, Foxx was candid in his response to Lee’s comment. "The question for me is: where's Spike Lee coming from? He didn't like Whoopi Goldberg, he doesn't like Tyler Perry, he doesn't like anybody, I think he's sort of run his course.”

Foxx added, "I mean, I respect Spike, he's a fantastic director. But he gets a little shady when he's taking shots at his colleagues without looking at the work. To me, that's irresponsible.”

"Django Unchained" has five Oscar nominations.

First off, in the Americas, Native Americans were the first slaves and when they started killing us off with very brutal work and diseases unknown to us, then they bought aficans from tribal leaders who wanted to spare themselves...so they sold your people out. This thing about race and the n word is sooooo over rated bc I can go all over the place and hear black people saying it.....so if its soooooo derogatory....why do the african americans sit there and call each other that.....I don't see people making a fuss when someone calls a Native American a savage in a movie or other names....the movies get praise! So why when it comes to African Americans its more derogatory....they are people just like everyone else so if it applies to one person it should apply to all and not just bc you are scared they will pull the race card on you....the race card is wayyyyy over played bc only certain people can use it. I believe if he used it in a way that it was apart of the culture of that time its ok.....what people fail to understand is yes that is a dark part of American history but it doesnt change the fact that it did happen. IT HAPPENED AND NOT ONLY WITH THE AFRICAN AMERICANS....FIRST THE NATIVE AMERICANS....Take some history lessons.

"My Ancestors Are Slaves. Stolen From Africa. I Will Honor Them."

No, your Ancestors were slaves sold by other black Africans. Spike, you should be trying to find out what tribe your ancestors were over powered by, enslaved, raped and sold to the highest bidder..... instead of insulting your colleagues because they are still relevant and making great films and your not!

I believe that people has a right to express their own opinion Mr. Jamie Foxx. I haven't the movie (Django Unchained) however it is so unbelievable that american blacks don't consider the "n-word" a derogatory word. Just because someone wants to put the content of a movie in a historical time frame doesn't make it right.
