Howard Stern Says 'Sorry' to Lena Dunham

January 16, 2013 Celebrity Feuds

Shock jock Howard Stern doesn’t think “Girls” star and creator Lena Dunham is a “talentless little fat chick,” and would like to say he’s sorry on the air.

Stern went on a rant last week calling Lena fat and saying she looked like actor Jonah Hill. He also complained about how much screen time the 26-year-old, who writes, directs and executive produces, gets on the show.

When she “keeps taking her clothes off, and it kinda feels like a rape… I don’t want to see that,” he added.

Stern is now addressing the rant, in the wake of Dunham’s Golden Globe win for Best Actress in a TV comedy, and calling the media's spin on his comments a “hatchet job.”

"I felt bad, because I really do love the show 'Girls' and enjoy it, and I admire the girl who writes it," he said.

Howard continued, "So anyway, I said to [producer Gary Dell'Abate], 'Would you please contact Lena Dunham and tell her that I would like to explain myself on the air and apologize to her, because I do love the show, and it makes me feel bad that she is getting the impression that I somehow think she's just a talentless little fat chick.'"
