Box Office Report: ‘The Hobbit’ Continues to Rule Them All

The Middle-Earth adventure “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” reigned once again at the box office this weekend, outperforming newcomers “Django Unchained” and “Les Miserables.”

“The Hobbit” took in an estimated $32.9 million over the weekend, upping its domestic total to a whopping $222.7 million. “Django” grossed $30.7 million, while “Les Mis” earned $28 million.

“Parental Guidance” landed in a higher-than-expected fourth-place spot, taking home $14.8 million and topping Tom Cruise's “Jack Reacher,” which came in fifth with $14 million.

Meanwhile, “Skyfall,” which garnered $4.6 million domestically this weekend reached a huge milestone, surpassing $1 billion at the worldwide box office.
