David Letterman Discusses 'F Word' with Tom Cruise

“Jack Reacher” star Tom Cruise stopped by “The Late Show with David Letterman” on Monday night. Dave kept the mood light, asking Tom if he had ever talked to his son Connor, 17, about the birds and the bees.
Keeping the teen’s privacy in mind, Cruise dodged the question with “[Connor’s] like, ‘Please don’t talk about me… with certain things, his friends will go, ‘What was that talk like, what were the details?’”The more Letterman pushed, the more Cruise turned the tables on him, finally asking if the late-night host had talked with his son, Harry, about girls.
Dave answered, “I think I'm late, I think we already should have had it. We had a conversation about dirty words. I said, ‘Harry, do you know dirty words?’ And he says, ‘Well, I know the S-word,’ and he says, ‘I know the B-word, and I know the F-word.’”
Letterman continued, “And so you hang on, and you say, ‘Okay, what is the S-word?’” And he said, ‘Stupid.’ And I said, ‘And what about the B-word,’ and he said, ‘Bad.’ And I said, ‘And the F-word?’ And he said f—k [bleeped].’”
Tom was completely shocked by the f-bomb, joking, “We might or might not be back after the commercial break."
