"The View" co-host Barbra Walters picked "Fifty Shades of Grey" author E.L. James as one of her "Most Fascinating People of 2012."

Here's a first look at their interview, including why James thinks female readers "like the idea of someone controlling them."

Walters' 90-minute special will air on Wednesday, December 12, at 9:30PM ET/6:30PM PT on ABC.
