Angus T. Jones' '2.5 Men' Mea Culpa: His Apology After Slamming Show

November 28, 2012 Hot Topics

Actor Angus T. Jones issued an apology to the cast and crew of “Two and a Half Men” after slamming the hit show in a YouTube video.

The online rant was a surprise, considering Jones has played Jake Harper on the show for nearly 10 years… and now earns approximately  $350,000 an episode.

The 14-minute clip, posted by the Forerunner Chronicles church, shows Angus calling the CBS comedy "filth" and saying he “didn’t want to be on it.” He then asks for people to stop watching it.

In the wake of the video, the 19-year-old is setting the record straight with a statement, explaining he's “grateful” for the people on the show and calling them an “extension of my family.”

“I learned life lessons from so many of them and will never forget how much positive impact they have had on my life,” Jones wrote.

He added, “I apologize if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect to my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed. I never intended that.”

Jones’ full statement is below:

I have been the subject of much discussion, speculation and commentary over the past 24 hours. While I cannot address everything that has been said or right every misstatement or misunderstanding, there is one thing I want to make clear.

Without qualification, I am grateful to and have the highest regard and respect for all of the wonderful people on Two and Half Men with whom I have worked and over the past ten years who have become an extension of my family.

Chuck Lorre, Peter Roth and many others at Warner Bros. and CBS are responsible for what has been one of the most significant experiences in my life to date.  I thank them for the opportunity they have given and continue to give me and the help and guidance I have and expect to continue to receive from them.

I also want all of the crew and cast on our show to know how much I personally care for them and appreciate their support, guidance and love over the years.  I grew up around them and know that the time they spent with me was in many instances more than with their own families.  I learned life lessons from so many of them and will never forget how much positive impact they have had on my life.

I apologize if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed.  I never intended that.

It's such a shame that he had to apologies. These people in the entertainment industry does not need to be apologized too, especially if they are encouraging people to live a filthy life. I guess the devil surely wins !

to me, that apology sounded so fake and re-hearsed,
he may have had a meltdown, but if he were really truthful, he would have talked more of why he did what he did, not just thank the show for what they have done for his carreer.
if his believes are so strong, than maybe he needs to find a new career, some where, he can grow up and be the type person he wants

Are you kidding me! Which publicist wrote that? Apparently young Angus' money machine is in overdrive to retain their cash cow.
