'DWTS: All-Stars' Finale: Who Took Home the Mirror Ball Trophy?

November 27, 2012 Dancing With The Stars

The All-Star “Dancing with the Stars” crowned "the best of the best” in its two-hour finale Tuesday, handing the Mirror Ball trophy to Melissa Rycroft and partner Tony Dovolani.

The dancing duo simply wowed in Monday’s performance with their freestyle dance. Check it out!

In Tuesday’s finale, the three finalists -- Rycroft, Kelly Monaco and Shawn Johnson -- had to perform one last dance for judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli after picking the theme and music from a big mirror ball bowl. Kelly got “Cat and Mouse” and jive. Melissa picked “Life is a Highway” and samba. Shawn wound up with “Respect” and cha-cha.

Third place went to Kelly Monaco and partner Val Chmerkovskiy. "The journey was amazing," said Monaco. "This guy is the most incredible man and he's the most talented dancer out there. He taught somebody who has no idea how to stand on both of her feet and talk at the same time how to dance gracefully."

Shawn and partner Derek Hough came in second. "Hopefully, I made this guy proud," Johnson said as she hugged Derek, who said, "It's been a special season."

But Melissa and Tony were the ones who sizzled, receiving the highest score. Tony explained to co-host Brooke Burke after the dance that he was "proud" of Melissa, who added, "Tony and I both learned we're stronger than we gave each other credit for."

Congrats to Melissa and Tony!
