"She knows my love and support are with her," Bergeron said on “The Talk.”

Tom also revealed that he’s known of his “DWTS” co-host’s diagnosis for a few months. "I told her at the time she first told me that I've had experience with this in my family," he said. “You never want to hear the word 'cancer,' but thyroid cancer is one of the most treatable cancers. It has an incredibly high success rate."

The mother of four, who wed actor David Charvet in 2011, went public with the news on Thursday via a personal video. Although the illness  has thrown her for a loop, the TV personality said she’s “going to make a positive out of this negative thing.”

According to Bergeron, Brooke is worried about scarring, but he explained, "In the hands of a very good surgeon, as I'm sure she has one, the scar doesn't necessarily have to be that visible."

On Friday, Brooke tweeted, "Morning. Wow, some news coverage yesterday. I'm feeling good. The C word sounds worse & scarier than it really feels." Watch her emotional video.

Hi Brooke,
Just wanted to let you know, it sounds scarier than it is. My daughter was diagnosed with thyroid cancer at 21, and myself at 47. We both had a total thyroidectomy, followed with radioactive iodine therapy. The worst part was the diet we had to follow before the treatment. We got use to it though. It wasn't so bad. plus the scar afterwards is hardly noticable as time goes on.
I wish you the best of luck!!! Don't be frightened, it really is one of the most treatable cancers. (So we were told).
If you ever have any ?'s from someone that has been through it, don'y hesitate to ask.

Sincerely;
Ann J
