I sorry that she has thyroid cancer but I am tired of seeing and hearing about it. I have had thyroid and cervical cancer at the sametime plus work and taking care of two pre-schoolers and a infant. All she is worried about is having a big scar. I have a scar about a inch long and you really cant tell I have one. She has money all she has to do is go see a plastic surgeon and get it fixed.
Hey Brooke, I admire you for staying positive. No one ever thinks this will happen to them. But we are all human, we have to live with this fear, and you are a very strong individual. Everything will be ok. We will pray for you. Good luck on your surgery. From Chico
Brooke, all our wishes & prayers go out to you & your loved ones for a quick & good recovery. We send much love to you & you're going to get through this with all the love & support everyone will give you.
I'M SORRY BUT I CANNOT KEEP MY MOUTH SHUT ANY LONGER. I'M SORRY ABOUT YOUR THYROID CANCER, BUT WHY IS IT THAT EVERY TIME A PUBLIC FIGURE GETS SICK, IT MAKES NATIONAL NEWS - LIKE IT'S THE FIRST TIME IT HAS HAPPENED. WHAT ABOUT ALL OF THE "REGULAR" FOLKS OUT THERE THAT ARE SICK, DYING, FIGHTING FOR THEIR LIVES. YOU DON'T HEAR A PEEP ABOUT THEM!!! IT MAKES ME VERY ANGRY!!
Brooke - My doctor recently found a large nodule on my thyroid. I have to have it removed along with my thyroid. There is a new procedure being developed called a robotic thyroidectomy at Georgia Health Sciences University, Augusta. The incision is made behind your ear rather than across your neck. Therefore, you won't have the scar across your neck. You may want to look into this...
Take care. Lisa
Dear Brooke,U must B going thru mixed feelings right now. I developed 'Graves disease' several years ago, that went undiagnosed. It took a toll on my body b4 the doctor removed my thyroid. The removal is quite simple. If U have a thoracic surgeon even better. U need 2 take levothyroxin to replace the thyroid hormones. I will pray 4 U. Take care. Nich.
what a great positive attitude ! GOOD LUCK
