Standup comedian Louis C.K. helped lighten the mood in NYC, post-superstorm Sandy, Saturday night on "SNL."

The show then portrayed the NYC press conference held by New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg (played by Fred Armisen), and New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (Bobby Moynihan). Each speaker was accompanied by his own personal signer, who animatedly translated on behalf of the hearing-impaired.

“SNL” returns next week with host Anne Hathaway and musical guest Rihanna.

Louis C.K. was a great host last weekend, and I hope that he hosts again sometime soon. Last Call with Kate McKinnon was one of my favorite skits, though the Cold Opening was pretty good as well. I can’t place my finger on why, but I died of laughter. I couldn’t see the show last night since I was working late at DISH. I set up my DISH Hopper to automatically record the show, and then watched it this morning. It’s nice that I can have the entire season on my DISH DVR, and still have plenty of recording space left over. I sure hope that Louis C.K. hosts again in the future.
