Nicki Minaj vs. Mariah Carey: 'Idol' Smackdown Caught on Tape
Singers Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey got into a verbal battle royale at the "American Idol" auditions in Charlotte, North Carolina on Tuesday. In a video obtained by TMZ, Nicki hurls threats and obscenities at Mariah.
TMZ also said the argument escalated off camera. Nicki supposedly yelled, "If I had a gun I would shoot her," but producer Nigel Lythgoe told the press that the death threat never happened. "The statement [that Nicki made a death threat] is absolute rubbish. It's absolutely not true in any way, shape or form," he said.
According to Splash, Mariah started the fight by calling Nicki a “b**ch,” causing the younger singer to storm off. When producers finally convinced Minaj to return, Carey continued hurling insults, causing the 29-year-old to attack.
Keith Urban Weighs in on 'American Idol' Feud
Poor Keith Urban was literally caught in the middle of the fight and at one point he just threw his hands up in the air, baffled. Producers halted auditions for the day so the two judges could settle down.

Get that Nicki off the show. Don't go that LOW. The show is so much better than that!
he needs to be kicked out the show, what kind of example is her to young people when she is only an uneducated fool.
This ignorant woman is the person that feels the need to advise us for who we should be voting for for President? Sure...because we all should be taking advice from a pathetic desperate woman that has plump her a&& with filler to sell records and who chooses to dress each day as a silly clown to hide her lack of real talent.
She ought to be glad to be in presence of Mariah Carey...a REAL gifted singer. Nicki, go back to the ghetto and the fast food restaurant job where you came from.
Well finally a season of Idol that is going to be worth watching every episode of just to see if the two will have an on air feud, could end up being much bigger because of the two judges then for any of the contestants performances
