Ellen DeGeneres Talks New Season, ‘Idol’ and ‘Finding Nemo 2’

September 12, 2012 Television

Ellen DeGeneres has a lot to celebrate these days. She just kicked off the 10th season of her daytime talk show, “Ellen,” with ratings at an all-time high, and she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

“Extra’s” Mario Lopez stopped by the set to chat with the daytime host about the Walk of Fame, “American Idol,” “Finding Nemo 2” and the new season.

DeGeneres couldn’t be happier about her star. She told Mario it is two down from Jennifer Aniston’s “right in front of the W Hotel -- like prime real estate! It could've been in front of a strip club or something!”

When it comes to “American Idol,” she thinks Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj would make for “good television.”

“I've heard they're not best friends,” Ellen explained. “So that'll be interesting to watch that. That's good television.”

Looking ahead, the comedienne confirmed she will likely be involved in the new “Finding Nemo 2.” DeGeneres joked, “It's been 10 years. I don't know if she swims as fast… does she have a walker in the water?”

Plus, Ellen has plenty in store for the new season of her talk show, including visits from No Doubt, Dave Matthews, Phillip Phillips and Green Day.
