Michelle Obama’s Brother: President and First Lady are ‘Grounded’

“Extra’s” A.J. Calloway caught up with first siblings Maya Soetoro-Ng and Craig Robinson at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC. Maya is President Barack Obama’s younger half-sister and Craig is Michelle’s older brother.

The pair spoke lovingly about Michelle’s opening convention speech, but Craig couldn’t help but have a little fun at the expense of the President and First Lady.

Robinson recalled the first time he met Obama. “We were taking bets on how long it would last because my sister didn’t keep boyfriends that long,” he said with a laugh. “Oh no. I felt sorry for the brother. [He was] like a dead man walking. “

Craig also points out that the two have remained “grounded and value-oriented” through it all. When she visits Robinson in Oregon, Michelle “sleeps on the couch and the girls will sleep in the room with my daughter on the floor. It will be like a giant sleepover.”
