Nicki Minaj to Join 'American Idol'?

Hip-hop artist Nicki Minaj is reportedly joining Mariah Carey as a judge on “American Idol.”

A source told Us Weekly, "I'm not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it. A few more slight things to sign off on but it is happening."

A second insider said Minaj was "100% confirmed to judge American Idol." Reps for FOX and Minaj had no comment when contacted by “Extra.”

Minaj -- real name Onika Tanya Maraj -- toured North America with Britney Spears in 2011 and has been gearing up for her own world tour to start in the fall.

The “Starship” singer recently had to cancel festival concerts in the U.K. due to damaged vocal cords.
